Ambitious Parking Project in Technopark Hits a Dead End

The automated multi-level parking facility at Technopark was touted as a solution to the parking woes of thousands of employees when it was launched two years ago. However, the project failed to take off and its prototype is now rusting at the IT hub. The prototype was developed by a father-son duo, Joy Abraham and Aubin Joe, who also owned the patent of the technology. It was inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development Shashi Tharoor in March last year. The prototype was designed to accommodate 27 cars at a time.

UST Global, the biggest employer of IT professionals in Kerala, will be the proud owner of the prestigious "Chambakulam Chundan" snake boat, winner of numerous boat races. The 120-foot-long snake boat, more than four decades old, can accommodate 110 oarsmen and won the prized Nehru Boat race in 1989, 1990, 1991, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1998 and 2009, held at the famed Alappuzha backwaters. Techies found time to express themselves is what technopark has seen on 14th Decemeber 2014. The Venue was Qisa film festival conducted by prathidhwani- a socio cultural organization of technopark employees. 27 movies done by techies of technopark discussed many social, environmental, emotional and lifestyle issues. There were laughing jerkers and thought provokers alike.

How to reach technopark? – If you ask this question to any body in technopark, people will say. Reach Kazhakoottam/Karyavattom by public transport, then catch an auto to technopark. Technopark , which is work place to 40,000 techies and about 5,000 other workers is biggest technopark in India and is an icon for kerala’s industrial flag. How about it’s transportation facilities, it is pathetic. Work population is supposed to grow to 1,50,000 when Technopark phase 3 is fully occupied.What Public transportation technopark is planning?, it is unclear!.

Campaign against atrocities towards children in Technopark

Destroyed 'Danbauk’ Restaurant Owned by Techies @ Leela food court
Danbauk – One of the restaurants started by IT professionals, in Leela Infopark Building, Technopark gets termination notice from Leela Infopark food court sub-licenser in October 2013. Leela Infopark is inside the Technopark Campus in Trivandrum. The techie resturant owners approached the court and the District Court has passed an interim order to reinstate Danbauk. Also a mass petition by technopark employees form various companies was submitted to the Honorable Chief Minister of Kerala as well as the Minister for Industries & IT.
